Man, What great fun I had this year at the Calgary Stampede and Exibition. Believe it or not, this was my tenth year with the Stampede. Do I love it?!? That's a silly question. Of Course I Do!!! If it was at all possible, I have been able to do the Stampede every year. The only year I missed the Stampede was in 2003 when I went away to work for the summer in Honsedale, Pennsilvana as a camp counseller. That was fun too, lots was learnt... The Stampede for me is a great way to have a great time, make new friends, and make LOTS of money too. The hours are long, but the people and the friends I make are wonderful. Guess what? One of my former teachers from junior high school has been a co-worker at the Stampede for about 3 years and I just figured it out this year. Yes... I can be a bit slow at times. HEY!!! Be nice!!! I have made lots of new and exciting friends from Austraila, and other places in the world.

I see some of the same cowboys year after year. Some are nice and some are not. I got a picture this year of one of the nice ones... and I mean nice in 2 ways... He has the most adorable kid. I just wanted to take him home. Shawn is teaching Cody to be a gentleman (to bad Shawn can't always be one :( ) Anyways, Shawn was in the Wild Horse Race. One day he got thrown from his horse and ended up in the hospital. Here's a cowboy for you. The guy was back at it the next day WITH a concussion!!! Did you all see the Stampede commerials? The one about a cowboy gets stepped on by a bull and he picks himself up and walks off. A baseball player twists his ankle and he has 5 people to help him off the field. Who's the real athele here? One of the many Stampede commercials that are my favs. Anyways... this was totally Shawn. Busted nose and a concussion later, he placed first the next day. Now, could you imagine where he would have placed if he didnt have a concussion?
